Hi Jan,

I won't have time in the immediate future to have a look at it, but in 
principle, these error messages are reported by the OS. As such, it will 
not be easily possible to change them.

It is possible, however, that in the scenario you describe the error is 
not reported at the right time, and this is the cause of the wrong error 
message. If that is the case, it may be possible to have rsyncrypto 
produce the correct error message.
