ROXS / News: Recent posts

Downloads and project web traffic show an increasing interest in ROXS. I'm happy with that, but unfortunately there's no feedback so far at all. So if you had a closer look or are even using it, please let me know about any problems you're having (or not). The Open Discussion Forum is a good place to do so. Thanks a lot!

I discovered that release 0.9.1 is not compilable with gcc 4.3.2 (it's probably not compilable with all of the new 4.3 series). That should be fixed now. I also added information on setting up remote hosts (see previous news).

The manual is lacking information on how a client can contact a server on a machine that is not "localhost", which is really what it's all about. Ok, here it is: set the environment variable ROXS_HOST to the remote host's name or IP address. The base port can be changed by setting ROXS_PORT on both the client and server (the default base port is 26070). I'll add this information to the manual as soon as possible.
