Then use a Filer window as the chooser. I kinda see your idea though (actually it should look just like a SaveBox). In some ways it would be strange to have a small window open just to drop a file on it. But at the same time you could present a text box to enter the filename manually (with completion?). Of course you can do text entry in the filer window also, so maybe nothing gained there except speed for keyboard types. e.g. hit Ctrl-O dialog opens type filename hit enter vs switch to filer window (keyboard or mouse) navigate to the file you want (keyboard or mouse) grab the mouse drag-n-drop the file Same number of steps, but you need to use the mouse at least once. |
