Excellent work Dennis! I'm very happy with my Debian/ROX desktop- IMO this is a very important development in the world of FOSS as we now have a FAST, fully-featured, easy to use desktop that doesn't require obscene amounts of RAM. It's the X desktop I've wanted for over a decade- can't wait to run this on the Zaurus and PS3! There are just a few things I'd like to see changed/ implemented before I reach desktop nirvana :) * The panel is the right size now and the clock works (as does setting the time) but because the desktop switcher it vertically orientated it is now almost invisible. There doesn't seem to be an option to have it horizontal which is what I'd prefer. * In the previous release, the log-out icon was in the bottom-left of the screen on the panel but now its become an icon on the desktop which seems strange. Please move this back onto the panel please! * Its a minor niggle but the fact that the taskbar gets moved slightly, constantly due to the seconds display on the clock changing is bound to irritate someone * Removeable discs- Dennis tells me that ROX-filer currently lacks the ability to have different icons for USB discs vs optical discs. That would be nice, as would the ability to mouse-over the removeable icons and see the device name, mount point, free and used space on the device. Thats it for the moment. My only other question is how do I make a link on the desktop to an app such as synaptic which requires gksu to be run first? I tried dragging /usr/sbin/synaptic on the desktop, right-clicking -> Edit item and then changing 'Clicking the icon opens' to 'gksu /usr/sbin/synaptic' but that didn't work. Whoever maintains the ROX homepage needs to update the Debian install instructions now. RanOtiX (Kanotix w/ ROX) anybody? dan __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
