That's because the rox-filer's working directory is your home directory. (cd `dirname "$@"` && tar xzf "$@") or something similar should work, but you're better off using Archive http://rox.sourceforge.net/desktop/Archive?PHPSESSID=4f24c9d74f16710e99a6ca535d9c70ba or file-roller.
