Hi, my last suggestion for today, promised ;-) Until now I've used mainly the mouse for navigating through nautilus, but in the last days I tried to use the keyboard only. To improve the key navigation, I had the following ideas: o change the behavior of <space>, so that it just switches to the next file, without keeping the selection. Most people should be used to this (<space> as 'next') through various image viewers and (maybe) emacs-dired. It's a very fast way of moving and you have your hands where the other shortcuts are. If someone wants to use the "old" behaviour, it can be bound to <S-space> or <C-space>. o provide an easier way to move to the first occurance of a character. so that (e.g.) <,-c> highlights the first file starting with 'c'. I know this is possible with '/' but it forces me to hit <ESC> afterwards. Imagine how fast it could be in connection with the latter point: <,-c-space-space-enter> o really SELECT the file you are on. At the moment you need to hit <space>+<o> for opening a file with the SendTo menu (if you have bound <o> to 'Open With...') O.k. ready, I hope I didn't bugged you with my Ideas ;-) Rgds, Daniel |
