It´s possible to script in a system where any units Devotion value generates a (Small) HP shield per battle.
Rate of Regen, size of shield etc can be discussed, but thinking it would be a pretty small shield, enough to reduce damage from lethal to survivable for a heavy plasma hit - or no damage from a bolter shot. Say 50 HP max.
Questions: How does this interact with armors that already have shields? Does the shield value from devotion get ADDED to that value, OVERWRITE IT, the LARGEST shield value takes precedent or CRASH?

It´s also possible to create some form of "global" (in battle) MIRACLE POINTS (for Sisters), based on their AVERAGE Devotion, or the Devotion of the highest ranked sister there.
These points could then be spent on some form of abilities (like the 40k boardgame Miracles).
Question: Do you get the points at the start of each battle and can spend them right away, or do they slowly regenerate to a max cap determined by the Devotion stat?
Can they regen after being spent, or is it a once and done deal?
Fill in with ideas for abilities:
-morale rally/refill for all sisters on the field,
-One Unit Save, some sort of "click on one unit and give it a 100 HP shield for 1 turn"
-Single or small AoE that refills TU and ENERGY" like that Space Marine Banner.
-Panic Attack vs any one Enemy Unit that is visible.
-An actual Miracle Attack that scales with Average Devotion, lights say an AoE of 5 tiles on fire and does X*Devotion Stat damage.
-Summons a Living Saint (goes away after battle, or can this unit be named after Sisters that have DIED? I think there´s a list that tracks that, right?).

Buscher, feel free to comment with your own ideas/thoughts here and how we´d go about implementing it.

    The original discussion was about a shared fate shield which is drained on a death blow saving the affected unit but taking points of the pool. This was intended with a pool created at the beginning of the battle which is only depleted but never restored.

    The other proposed ideas can be set up in parallel. This may be linked to a skill system used by very specific units (saints healing, etc.). Also these abilities may require line of sight.
