This patch fix the -Wcatch-value warnings: catching polypmorphic exceptions by value. This is against current trunk.

This is default in "gcc (GCC) 9.1.1 20190503 (Red Hat 9.1.1-1)"

Ah, thanks for this clue. This is closely related to [patches:#63]. I think we'll go ahead and turn on this warning in preparation and then apply this patch to start.
