If you ever compose or play piano music, you might like to try the following soundfont made by Warren Trachtman using an 1897 Steinway model-C grand piano: http://www.wstco.com/pianosounds/freesoundfont.htm I think it is probably the finest free piano soundfont published to-date. Your soundcard must have at least 25MB of wave memory to fit this soundfont. After downloading the 7MB file "WST25FStein_00Aug14.exe", run it to extract the 25MB soundfont "WST25FStein_00Aug14.SF2". You can load the soundfont in Rosegarden using the "Manage MIDI Devices" dialog in the "Studio" menu in the track editor. You can also load it from the command-line by "asfxload WST25FStein_00Aug14.SF2" or "sfxload WST25FStein_00Aug14.SF2". William |
