Do you get this error with one particular file, or with every file you try?

If it's one file, let's start with a copy of that file.  (Send it to me 
directly, or post to the list.)  I'll look at it and see if I can find a 
problem that's causing the export to fail.

If it's every file, let's start by taking a random file as our reference 
point.  It would be most convenient to use something standard from the 
Rosegarden example files collection.  Let's use lilypond-staff-groupings.rg 
because that's short and fresh and definitely works here.  Go to File -> 
Export -> Export to LilyPond and export this to a named file somewhere.

From a command line, find the file you saved, and run lilypond on it by hand.

$ lilypond the_file_you_exported.ly

Paste a copy of the results, and I'll sift through them for clues.
