> And I'm going to have a fiddle about [..] Ok, it was pretty simple in the end. For the record you have to make sure that you've got your KDEDIR set and then initially we run: $ make -f admin/Makefile.common package-messages And we get the po/rosegarden.pot and po/rosegardensequencer.pot files generated. Translation can now take place on these files and according to that web reference the new files should be named in the form "<languagecode>.po" - I'm not so sure about this but I s'pose the best thing to do is to compare with another app to find out how they do it. So assuming we have translation files (of some naming convention) in the po/ directory alongside our generated pot files we will subsequently be running: $ make -f admin/Makefile.common package-merge and translators will only have to translate additions or modifications. I've not idea how the locales source the files from there but I'm sure there's several people out there with experience of this and can get this bit working. I've checked the generated .pot files into CVS so that Alexandre or anyone else who wants to play around can do so - there was a German translation on the cards wasn't there? If anyone gets a translation working and wants a pot file checked into CVS then let us know. B |
