hi list, I have a problem getting output from my soundcard. I've read this HOWTO: http://rosegarden.sourceforge.net/tutorial/using-rosegarden/en/chapter-2.html#2 tried to set up jack but to no avail. In the HOWTO it is said that if you use qsynth, you can do so with ALSA, but RoseGarden still doesn't output anything. here's the output of /proc/asound: [peter@official fr]$ cat /proc/asound/version Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.8. [peter@official fr]$ cat /proc/asound/cards 0 [nForce2 ]: NFORCE - NVidia nForce2 NVidia nForce2 with ALC650F at 0xe0081000, irq 11 I'm using Mandrakelinux Limited Edition (aka 10.2) with: libjack0-devel-0.99.0-2mdk libjack0-0.99.0-2mdk libbio2jack0-0.4-1mdk jackit-0.99.0-2mdk qjackctl-0.2.15a-1mdk rosegarden4-1.0-2mdk I installed kernel-multimedia-2.6.10-3.mm.17mdk-1-1mdk but I got this message at the end of the installation: Preloading capability security module, if you want to activate realtime capabilities comment out/delete the line containing capability and add on a new line "realcap", and adjust the realcap module options in /etc/modprobe.conf. and here's my modprobe.conf: alias eth0 forcedeth alias sound-slot-0 snd-intel8x0 alias eth2 eth1394 remove snd-intel8x0 /sbin/modprobe -r snd-pcm-oss; /sbin/modprobe --first-time -r --ignore-remove snd-intel8x0 install snd-intel8x0 /sbin/modprobe --first-time --ignore-install snd-intel8x0 && { /sbin/modprobe snd-pcm-oss; /bin/true; } install usb-interface /sbin/modprobe ohci-hcd; /sbin/modprobe ehci-hcd; /bin/true alias eth1 3c59x alias ieee1394-controller ohci1394 remove nvaudio /sbin/modprobe --first-time -r --ignore-remove nvaudio install nvaudio /sbin/modprobe --first-time --ignore-install nvaudio remove i810_audio /sbin/modprobe --first-time -r --ignore-remove i810_audio install i810_audio /sbin/modprobe --first-time --ignore-install i810_audio alias net-pf-10 alias net-pf-10 alias net-pf-10 alias net-pf-10 alias net-pf-10 alias net-pf-10 alias net-pf-10 alias net-pf-10 alias net-pf-10 alias net-pf-10 alias net-pf-10 alias net-pf-10 alias net-pf-10 alias net-pf-10 alias net-pf-10 Any help would be appreciated.
