I'd like to request that rosegarden be able to change
the time signature in the middle of a measure.
Currently, RG only allows a time signature change to
occur at the beginning of a measure.
Example of why this is needed: I used RG to read in a
midi file of the Beethoven piano sonata #31, opus 110.
The notation editor did a pretty good job of
interpreting the MIDI file, but some tuning was needed,
including adding the time signature change in bar 6 of
the 2nd movement. Wacky Beethoven starts the movement
in 4/4 and, after a short, free-style recitative
section, changes to 12/16 in the middle of measure 6.
RG only allows changing the time signature at the
beginning of the measure.
[Note: In making the above time change, I ran into
another problem that implies a feature request: RG had
interpreted the 16th notes in the 12/16 section as
8th-note triplets. When making the time signature
change, these notes remained as triplets. I wanted to
be able to tell RG to change all of these triplets to
16th notes to match the original score - with only a
little human guidance, rather than having to do this
"by hand", which I think would be quite time-consuming
and tedious. I'm pretty sure that there is no easy way
to do this in RG. (If I'm wrong, I'm happy to be
corrected.) I know that this is a separate feature
request, but I don't have time at this point to add a
separate request for it. If you guys want to do that
for me, you're welcome to, or I may get around to it
later. Thanks.]

Changing time signature in the middle of a bar is interesting, but it is not the common use of time signatures.
Anyway, this could be tweaked by an extra bar line and by making it invisible.
Added this to Summer Code as "Support different types of bar lines: single, double, ending, beginning, repeat, dashed, dotted, empty"
http://rosegarden.wiki.sourceforge.net/SummerCode
It appears that we now allow this. Select a point in the middle of a measure, then insert a time signature change. It will give you the option to start a new bar at this point. I suspect this can be closed.
