#732 segments not visibly selected after select all

Multi segment document. Edit -> Select All Segments

Nothing seems to have happened, although a subsequent
attempt to manually select a segment after doing this
causes everything to poof into selected status. Probably
some kind of update mechanism isn't being triggered as it
should be.

This is with 1.1. I didn't bother to see if 1.0 had the same
problem.
