#28 HTML pages on root window (like ActiveDesktop)

It would be nice to have some small HTML pages
(rendered by GtkHTML or Gecko?) on root window, just
like (un)famous MS Active Desktop.

I googled the web and I cannot find any other MS
ActiveDesktop Linux equivalement ... root-portal would
be the first... ?

    Sorry I didn't reply to this before. It's something I've
    considered from time to time. I'm presently working on a
    rewrite that together with GNOME2 support and a change to a
    different primary language (ruby), will have some (limited)
    HTML-like capabilities: colours, fonts, images and links if
    i can figure out a good way to get mouse clicks normally
    read by nautilus.
