Hello,
I encountered a strange thing using a ryos mk glow keyboard. Some of the multimedia keys (mute, volume up, volume down, play/pause, stop, previous and next) are not working most of the time (sometimes they do, but that's rare. I checked with xev) whereas I have no problems with th others (home, browser, calculator). they are correctly configured in the software.
By replugging, it solves the problem. The roccat's kernel stuff is not compiled as modules.

Are you double booting into a Windows installation with Roccats driver installed? Does this only happen when you change from Windows to Linux?
To fix misbehaving multimedia keys you can use the command
Maybe autostart it.

It worked. I don't understand why booting on windows break multimedia keys but at least I have a solution now. Thanks a lot.
The Windows driver changes operation mode of the keyboard so that the driver can handle multimedia events for itself. This state is kept after reboot and has to be switched back to normal mode where the keyboard sends standard hid events under Linux.
I only asked because you did sound like it happens randomly for you.
Eventually this will be integrated in the eventhandler so it will be done automatically.
Next release will fix button behaviour automatically on eventhandler startup.

I'm having this issue with version roccat-tools-5.1.1.tar.bz2 on both my Ryos MK Pro keyboard and Roccat Kone Pure.
I just updated from an older version to 5.1.1 and I still have this issue. For some reason volume control works on my mouse even without replugging it in, but media player controls don't.
