Hello all, I'm writing a blog post about the creation of RHQ plugin and I'm trying all the paths to get it done. Well, I've already done it before but now I'm starting from the very beginning, trying to follow the same steps a newbie would do. *1. The first trying was using the Skeleton Plugin [1].* I updated my source tree to rev 4298, built it and everything went just fine. Then, I made a copy of etc/samples/skeleton-plugin on /modules/plugins/test1, tried to build it and, for my surprise, it didn't compile! test1$ mvn package (...) Just a note that I updated the version of RichFaces in r2405. You will have to do clean builds or you will end up with old and new versions of RichFaces (which doesn't work). - Greg |

Just an FYI, a db change made to support RHQ-644/RHQ-672. Also, Some initial hooks for an HA Admin Console have been added. At this point a new section in "Administration" and a "List HA Servers" option. Feel free to take a look and provide any feedback. Also, any feedback on the installer changes made recently is appreciated. Thanks, -Jay |

Revision 1158 now allows RHQ to be built and run with Java 6. The biggest changes to the build to allow this was to the dbutils module. I've tested it with both Java 5 and 6 and was able to successfully setup a clean database as well as upgrade an existing one. - J |

A column was added to the content requests table in order to capture user-entered notes. Content delete/deployment through the UI won't work without the DB change. As usual, a full dbsetup or just an upgrade will apply the necessary change. - J |

Due to a couple bugs we discovered in RichFaces 3.2.1.GA, we have downgraded to RF 3.2.0.GA (r1110). This means once you svn up, you'll need to either do a clean mvn build of portal-war, or manually remove the RF 3.2.1 jars from portal.war/WEB-INF/lib/ in your dev container. For more info, see http://jira.rhq-project.org/browse/RHQ-358. -Ian |

A column was added to the package type table. This is used when populating the package types at plugin load time, which means this change has to be made before attempting to start the server if any deployed plugins define package types. This change will be applied in either a full DB setup or just the upgrade. If you have any questions on this, ping jdob in the #rhq freenode room. - J |

This revision requires a DB setup or upgrade. The change was simple; the resource creation history table now doesn't require a resource name. You'll only run into the need to upgrade in order to deploy package-backed resources (i.e. you'll still need it eventually, but you can hold off if you're not touching this functionality). |

After you svn up, you'll need to either manually clean the old RichFaces jars out of your portal.war/WEB-INF/lib/ dir or run 'mvn clean install' from the portal-war module. |
