Preview of a cut

This feature, that I use on a Win audio editor like Netia's
Radio Assist, is useful to listen a cut before it was made:
that permit a better trim of it.
It's a play of 2-3 seconds before the start cut and 2-3
seconds after the end cut to listen if a word of a spoke was
wrongly cut.
Thanks a lot for the beautiful work made.

I'm not sure if this is helpful.. but maybe it is. In CVS
you can play from the left edge of the screen until the end
of the file (or if you hit stop). Also, you can
conveniently bind keys to actions. Combinine these two
features you can simply position the horizontal scrollbar so
that the beginning of the cut is a few seconds to the right
of the left edge and get the same effect. At least, that's
what I do when I edit. I always have a few seconds of the
audio in view prior to the start selection position. Either
that or I always use the key bindings that already exist for
for seeking ('1' to backup, '3' to fast forward and
repeatedly pressing '2' while pressing one of those to
increase the rate)
Since the above involves multiple steps, it might be nice to
have yet another play function that does what you describe.
At least one to start a few seconds prior to the start
selection position.. it's probably not necessary to
automatically stop afterwards.. you just simply press the
stop key when you're satisfied.
