What steps will reproduce the problem?

On Debian wheezy:

1. $ sudo apt-get install retroshare tor tsocks
2. $ torify RetroShare

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I see two kinds of error messages on the terminal where RetroShare was started.

maybe a couple of these every second:

18:46:38 libtorsocks(868): connect: Connection is to a local address (172.16.54.53), may be a TCP DNS request to a local DNS server so have to reject to be safe. Please report a bug to http://code.google.com/p/torsocks/issues/entry if this is preventing a program from working properly with torsocks.

maybe a couple in a row every minute:

18:54:26 libtorsocks(868): sendto: Connection is a UDP or ICMP stream, may be a DNS request or other form of leak: rejecting.

At the same time RetroShare seems to work with full functionality.

I am not sure what I expect to see. Not seeing the warnings when something is going wrong between torsocks and retroshare would be a bad solution. I would expect rather that retroshare and torsocks would work together more smoothly and therefore no errors would happen.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

retroshare 0.5.3.b revision 4971
torsocks 1.0~epsilon+dfsg1-1

Please provide any additional information below.

Perhaps there could be an option in RetroShare for not searching nodes on local network which would solve the problem, but this is a tentative suggestion.

Of course UDP over Tor is not possible at the moment, so if it cannot be used it could be disabled.
