Hi, Maybe this function is already in r2w, but I was wondering, can I ask r2w to give me the plain rst without macros, and co, what the rst processor gets ? This would be usefull for compiling a pdf version of the site. Cheers, Ga=EBl |

Hi,=20 for a German website, I'd like to output <%modtime%> using the German locale. Is this possible? If not, how would one do this? I would use the namespace['modified'] value, but I don't know how to access the namespace dictionary from inline code in template.txt. Hello all, I've just submitted minor code changes and some doc changes for the 0.5.0 release. Tonight I'll be testing and then trying to work on a manpage. There is a possibility that rest2web 0.5.0 will sneak into the forthcoming debian release. Even if it doesn't make it rest2web 0.5.0 will be released within 24 hours or so. Hello all, I'm working on getting a new release of rest2web out this week, closing off all known issues, updating the documentation and the easiest of the outstanding feature requests. The *hope* is that it may be ready in time for the release of Debian scheduled for the end of the week. The only fly in the ointment is the lack of a man page. I can write the text for this, but am unlikely to be able to master Docbook XML and the tool chain in time. Is there anyone who could put together a man page if I write up the text for it ? All the best, Fuzzyman http://www.voidspace.org.uk |

It will be fixed in the next release. In fact, uservalues are encoded to the final encoding early on. If you are using the version from subversion (recommended) then the line to fix is line 1327 : Change it from : uservalues = enc_uni_dict(page['uservalues'], final_encoding) to : uservalues = page['uservalues'] This works in a simple test case, but I need to check that it is always the right solution. > On a side note, when r2w fails with such an error it still return a > return value of 0, with means success in the Unix world, and is used in > makefile, or building script a lot. Hi, r2w so far does a great job of dealing with non ASCII encodings. But I found a glitch: I have a user-value in a page that uses a non ascii character. Python isn't to happy about that: the line print node_title + ": " + title Now if node_tile contains, say "=EB", I get this Traceback (most recent call last): [err] File "./r2w.py", line 185, in ? [err] count =3D main(options, config) [err] File "./r2w.py", line 94, in main [err] return processor.walk() [err] File "/home/varoquau/www/rest2web/rest2web/restprocessor.py", line 385, in walk [err] self.buildsection() [err] File "/home/varoquau/www/rest2web/rest2web/restprocessor.py", line 1325, in buildsection [err] uservalues =3D enc_uni_dict(page['uservalues'], final_encoding) [err] File "/home/varoquau/www/rest2web/rest2web/restutils.py", line 227, in enc_uni_dict [err] val =3D uni_dict[entry].encode(encoding) [err] File "/usr/lib/python2.4/encodings/iso8859_1.py", line 18, in encode [err] return codecs.charmap_encode(input,errors,encoding_map) [err] UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xeb in position 2: ordinal not in range(128) [err] The encoding of this string is most probably the encoding of the page, therefore Latin1. A fix would probably to have the user-value be translated from Latin1 to unicode when it is read, as I recon the parser knows what the encoding of the page is, at this point. On a side note, when r2w fails with such an error it still return a return value of 0, with means success in the Unix world, and is used in makefile, or building script a lot. On my website I check for the return value of r2w before propagating the website, but I cannot trap the rror, as it is not reported. Cheers, Ga=EBl =20 |

The more I think about it the more I think that the good way to do this is to have a macro {pyreport;foo.py} that would run foo.py throught pyreport and return rest2web friendly rest syntax. Thus pyreport would be embedded in rest2web. Hum that looks like a promising idea and would profit a to rest2web, although it does add features that intersect with the ability rest2web has to embed python code in a page. > >I like this idea. Hum, it reminds me that I still haven't found a way of passing a relative path to macros like colorize. Currently I have=20 "{colorize;/home/varoquau/www/src/computers/pyreport/latex.py}" in my rest file, and that is very ugly. What is the correct way of doing this (either I am missing something obvious, or it doesn't work on my system). Ga=EBl |

Package: rest2web-doc Version: 0.5.0~beta~svn-r210-1 Severity: serious Justification: Policy 2.2.1 rest2web-doc's copyright file indicates that the package's content is by default under the BSD, but a non-BSD Firefox icon is included in /usr/share/doc/rest2web/html/images/firefox.gif. Additionnally, rest2web-doc is in main and the Firefox icon is not modifiable. |

It looks like uservalues are not converted to unicode when they are parsed. So non-ascii characters blow up when I encode them to the final encoding. If you are using the version from subversion (recommended) then I think the line to fix is line 1327 : Change it from : uservalues = enc_uni_dict(page['uservalues'], final_encoding) to : uservalues = page['uservalues'] This works in a simple test case, but I need to check that it is always the right solution. Thanks for the bug report.
