Hi everyone. I would love to be able to generate a RSS feed of a directory tree containing some r2w documents. I remember somehow to have read about a ReST->RSS blogging tool, but I would really like to integrate this into rest2web. One entry for one file/page just using file mtimes would be ideal for me. I could just drop new docs on a tree and let people have notifications of changes without effort. Did anybody do something similar? Bests. |

Hello Marcelo, Setting up a "proper" repository is still on my list of things to do, however it will be a "legacy" repository. I still use rest2web but I haven't had any need or time for development work on it for two years or so - and I don't see this changing in the immediate future. Thanks for setting up the repo - it's *definitely* a useful intermediate step so the project doesn't get lost altogether. If you want to do fork rest2web and do additional development and releases then feel free (although I'm not very proud of the code). Until the time that Michael has time to set up a new repository for rest2web, I have created a Fossil one at http://chiselapp.com/user/richieadler/repository/rest2web/, with links to the version 0.5.1 and 0.5.2-alpha for those who might need one or the other (of course, the alpha corrects some bugs and adds functionality, so I guess that should be the preferred one). Michael, are you OK with this? Let me know if I can keep this repo or do you want to set another one yourself. Regards, -- o-=< Marcelo >=-o |

Michael, Do you have an idea of when will you be able to setup a new repository? The site has as the last version 0.5.1, but in the past version 0.5.2~alpha+svn-r248-2 was available and now it is not. This alpha added several useful changes, including new parameters for several functions; it would be a pity to lose access to those. -- o-=< Marcelo >=-o |

Hi everyone. I'm wondering: is it possible for rest2web to generate section links with the whole name (like rst2html normally does) instead of putting a progressive id? That would make linking to a section more useful. |

Package: rest2web Version: 0.5.2~alpha+svn-r248-2 Severity: normal In the documentation, it's mentioned that "sections" is a Python dictionary. But if I use "<# print sections #>", r2w seems to consume infinite memory (at least gigabytes of memory in a few seconds). Hello Karl, Thanks for the report. rest2web isn't under active development at the moment, but worse the site hosting the bug tracker / repository went down. I'll create a new repository and issue tracker and then at least it can be properly reported in case anyone wants to pick up development. Hello Karl, This definitely sounds like something worth fixing. Unfortunately the source code repo for rest2web seems to have "vanished" (I think the free provider pulled it without telling me). I need to find a new home for the repository (probably google code with mercurial). I haven't actively done any development on rest2web for quite some time. I still *use* it, but it does everything I need so I haven't spent any time on it for a long while. As soon as there is a new repo for rest2web I will email this list. This will include an issue tracker so you can at least file an issue (or create a patch I can just pull in). Hello Karl, rest2web only provides a default template when used in "force mode" (-f or --force command line option). Otherwise you *must* manually specify the template file, or have a template.txt file in the rest2web site. See the documentation for details of how the template files are found. hi, I've noticed if the config file exists but is empty rest2web fails with a small backtrace. Traceback (most recent call last): File "../srccache/rest2web-packaging/r2w.py", line 142, in <module> log_file = config['log_file'] or None File "/home/kgoetz/srccache/rest2web-packaging/rest2web/pythonutils/configobj.py", line 532, in __getitem__ val = dict.__getitem__(self, key) KeyError: 'log_file' Has this been fixed in svn? (or whatever the code will be in after this). If not I'll have a proper go at fixing it myself - the quick hack i put in requires DEBUG and psyco to be in the config. kk PS. i subscribed to the list, so no need to cc me :) -- Karl Goetz, (Kamping_Kaiser / VK5FOSS) Debian contributor / gNewSense Maintainer http://www.kgoetz.id.au No, I won't join your social networking group |
