I'm wondering how things are going with everyone. I know sometimes these projects slow down because people find solutions that work and start using them instead.
Has that happened here? Does anyone know of any OSS requirements management tools yet?
Thanks for your consideration,
Brian Topping

There are COTS requirements traceability packages out there but they're not cheap. So I've been thinking about rolling out my own.
Just found this site, could someone let me know what the status of this project is? The posts I see here are pretty old.

no publicly-available news today. i'm working to organize stuff. Mark Ault has joined the project. anybody else want to sign up?
details:
the available tools are expensive. i'm a DOORS user (see <http://www.telelogic.com/products/doors/>); DOORS licenses start at $5k a pop (list). cost is one of the reasons for something like reqsman, but it's far from the only reason. the tools that i've seen thus far (and i haven't done a full analysis since a yr or two ago) are far from what i think can be done.
there's been no publicly-visible work in this area. however, i've been working with the concepts for the last couple years in my job and with other organizations. i have collected many thoughts and notes. i hope to organize a presentable set of info sometime in the near future.
Mark Ault has officially joined the project, and i've made him a full admin on the reqsman.sf.net project. he and i are talking interactively.
Mark wrote the overview (i think) currently at reqsman.sf.net.
if anyone else cares to join, please let Mark or I know. can't guarantee what will happen, but i think it's appropriate at this time to extend an invitation to anyone interested enough to put work towards it.
