I have successfully downloaded several .mpg files from
my ReplayTV 5040 using the 0.4.0 Windows software
on WinXP Home. Two files have successfully played
the video while all others are being played as audio
only. I upgraded to Windows Media Player 9 (was
using 8) and there was no change. I can't find any
connection between the files (other than possibly they
came from the same station) the would indicate it was
something about how they were recorded by the Replay
that is causing it.
The audio plays just fine, but there is no video codec
listed in the media player for this file at all (the problem
files indicate a media type simply of "audio"). The ones
that work indicate "CyberLink Video/SP Decoder" as
the video codec (incidentally it throws a brief error about
downloading the codec before it proceeds to play just
fine) and a media type of "video". [these data are
coming from File...Properties in Windows Media Player
when playing the MPG file.]
Any ideas?
