After having worked with Repast a while, my group is starting to desire implementation of a somewhat large-scale model within Repast, and we'd like to stick with Simphony for now if we can. Unfortunately, we've been running into some limits with the Windows / Mac distributions of Repast due to their 64-bit nature - Java can't acquire even 1.6 GB of contiguous memory for the heap, let alone 4 GB, and this is becoming a limitation for scaling up our present models. (It's a known issue with Java's 32-bit VM... apparently it's related to the way code libraries are loaded into the VM.) I've tried to utilize the steps for Linux distributions to get a 64-bit download of Eclipse set up with Repast Simphony, but I've been having some significant issues. The 3.7.1 update isn't readily available anymore from the main Eclipse site - it's 3.7.2, and the update manager doesn't have the mentioned "Eclipse XML Editors and Tools" and "Groovy language support" options available as downloads. More critically, however, I can't get an actual resource list from the http://dist.springsource.org/release/GRECLIPSE/e3.7/ <http://dist.springsource.org/release/GRECLIPSE/e3.7/> site in order to download the needed prerequisite libraries for Repast - I get exceptions instead. Is there an alternate download site available for some of these resources that I'm simply not aware of? (If so, it might be wise to update the Repast site's download information accordingly, by the way.) Also, would there be a chance of getting full 64-bit distributions of Repast Simphony available on the main site? My research group uses both Windows and Mac operating systems, and then we work with another agency from time to time as well... and this may be something that others could make good use of. Thanks!
