Hi Heiner, I have been working with Repast S for the last two-three months. I must say I like Simphony and have not (even) looked at J because that seems to be end-of-life... (no more development). In fact I only do Java in S. I have looked at the Groovy code generation (through the tutorial at http://repast.sourceforge.net/docs/tutorial/SIM/index.html) but quickly moved to writing my own code. There is some pointers as to how to do that under http://repast.sourceforge.net/docs/tutorial/SIM/3-98%20Creating%20a%20Mo del%20with%20Java%20Objects.html Hope this helps. Subject: [Repast-interest] How to get started with Repast? Dear all, I've got a basic question: How do I get started with Repast? Shall I use RepastJ (I am familiar with Java), or Repast Simphony? What are their advantages and disadvantages? Is it possible to write Java code in combination with Repast Simphony? If so, is there a tutorial? I started with "Getting started with Repast Simphony" available at sourceforge. However, I didn't get quite far. The document refers to Repast Simphony 3.1 and some things seem to have changed in Repast Simphony 3.2 which I downloaded. Is there an updated version of "Getting started ..." ? I also didn't succeed in loading freeze-dried data. The error message says that I placed gasNodes outside the grid, but I didn't. Thanks for any hints, Heiner |
