UNABLE TO ADD RECORD
Brought to you by:

Hello I am unable to add any text or information to this program when selecting to add a record no box loads up to add text or information to the job sheet program this applies to all information such as adding customers, brands, models, states, repair types ect. I am using a windows vista PC and I have java 7 installed but I still do not get any text boxes to enter any data into this. Do I need any other version of Java to operate the software. Once I am able to test the program I will be able to donate money to this software as i am using paper based job sheets at the moment.
Like Mattheew I've been unable to add a record or alter the wording in the options page. Why? I don't understand sql or other computer things.
hello there. this may be able to help you. it worked for me.
if you are using a 64 bit OS you will need to right click the desktop icon and click properties, click on the compatibility tab, on compatibility mode click the box where is it says "run this program in compatibility mode for", on the drop down menu choose windows xp service pack 2, further below also click on the "run this program as administrator", click apply and ok and your all done :-)
you may have to reproduce the same setup for any OS above xp or vista

Thanks Jorge - all working now. Ian
any time :-)
Was experiencing exact same issue but Jorge Lourinho's solution works!!!
I have set mine to run in "Win XP service pack 3" compatibility mode and it is now working.
Thanx Jorge.
Also if you have trouble with the backup system and recovery here is a solution.
hi
please read this as it will work.
1- create the backup file.(this will be zip format and assuming you haven't done it already)
2- go to the zip file and unzip it on to desktop for easy finding.
3- open the folder you unzipped, in there you will find a folder called "gestrip" right click and copy.
4 - go to main hardrive normally c: and find the repair labs folder and open it.
5- locate and open the folder "db"
6- locate and open the folder "derby"
7- paste the folder you copied earlier and voila.
this has worked for me and I hope it works for you 2.
if not private message me or Skype me on wolfpackpcs
