Remix OS is a free Android version made by Jide, the company behind this operating system. This OS comes with certain basic Android features adding some missing functions that are present for Mac and Windows users.

You install it on a USB and boot directly from that. It’s compatible with Intel and AMD processors, so it runs on almost any machine, and unlike other solutions, it has a dedicated desktop user interface just like the operating system you’re already used to.

That means that when you open an app, it doesn’t take up the whole screen like it would on an Android tablet; it opens in its own window like any other desktop program. This allows you to use Chrome alongside Word, or Google Maps, or YouTube, or just about any other Android app.

Remix OS is totally free to download and use.

This is an alternative to running an Android Emulator for Windows.

  • looks interesting but doesn't support any Intel CPUs over 10th get and no Intel iris xe support.
  • Hi, I tried to install this software both ways: on hard drive and on usb key. Both failed for me. But the 8GB space was immobilized on the hard drive and also 8GB on the usb drive!! Even if you try to format the USB key, it won't format itself on its entire space and still keeps the 8GB inaccessible. How can I get back the 8GB on my hard drive as well as the 8GB on my USB flash drive? Thank you.
