The main window seems to serve two entrely different purposes. as a log and as a general command center. It seems to be that these two things should be split.
The log should have it's own window.
The other functionality should have a second window.
This is true. However this window is used for debugging purposes. It mirrors exactly Mannys prolog system. That is why it is still there. Manny suggests that we call this window Debugging Trace. Pointing to the user that this is not a window to use for them.

It's fine to have a logging window, the problem is that all the setup and loading menus are also IN this window...they need to be separated out. For example, have a window that only has the log, and put the menus somewhere else. Marianne suggested to put them in the main GUI window (the one that acts as the desktop but otherwise doesn't really do anything). I think this is a very good idea. It also gives the window a more obvious purpose in life (I know the back-end Java purpose, but other users don't).
