#15 Recording from a region fails under fluxbox

Hi, this may be the fault of fluxbox (though someone in #fluxbox didn't think so). I used gtk-recordMyDesktop and set a region of the current screen for recording. I clicked record and bad things started happening within the region: I couldn't interact with windows, and I saw some odd graphical effects.

On a hunch I switched to gnome and the problem went away.

    Hi,

I don't know yet the reason, but I've reproduced the error.
To the best of my knowledge, this problem only manifests itself
under fluxbox(KWin 3/4, blackbox, unmanaged X work fine), but this doesn't necessarily mean that's it's the WM's fault.
Anyway, I'll examine the problem and try to identify possible causes.

Meanwhile, it seems that qt-recordMyDesktop and plain recordMyDesktop
(0.3.7+ draws it's own frame) don't have this problem. So you might
want to switch interface or go with the cli program.

Also, please add the following information to this bug report:

    i) gtk-recordMyDesktop version
ii) Graphics card and the driver that you are using.
    iii) gtk/pygtk version

Thanks you for reporting this bug and helping
    recordMyDesktop improve :).

    Regards,
    John.-

This issue is very old. If the problem still exists, please file an issue at the new GitHub page: https://github.com/Enselic/recordmydesktop
