Would be cool if recoil could support the Yanagisawa PIC2 format: http://fileformats.archiveteam.org/wiki/PIC2
I've attached a zip file that contains 48 sample P2 files.
Also in the zip are 4 P2 samples I converted to PNG using this 'xv' extension: https://www.ikemo.to/xv-jp-extension/e/
Also in the zip is the xvpic2.c source code that the xv extension uses to read PIC2.
If you need any other P2 files converted to PNG or other xv-extension files, let me know and I can provide.
Looks quite complex. I'm not going to invest that much time anytime soon.
What machines did the format work on?
Very low priority on this format, I've only encountered it on these 5 magazine CDs:

https://archive.org/details/cg-network-6
https://archive.org/details/cg-network-7

Some additional research on the web just says that various applications on "japanese computers" of this era supported this format.
Some more info on the format: https://www.wikipe.wiki/wiki/ja/PIC2
If this format never makes it into recoil, that's not any huge loss to history, since it sounds like this format was pretty short lived and thus likely is very little unique content out there in this format.
A new image converter now supports PIC2: https://codeberg.org/kaleido/wuimg
Since there now exists a converter for it, and based on the complexity of the format, you could probably close this issue.
