Nowadays, RECOIL doesn't show the contents of a .PLx palette file itself.
But it would be nice if it could render a 16x8 grid showing its 8 palette sets. I attached here a PLx file and and proposal of how it could be rendered.
The example uses black to render the lines that separate each color. But it's probably better to use the color-0 of each set for that. This will allow the palette to be easily generated in GIMP and Photoshop from that image.
