* Will we use a mapping layer (Frank implemented a
basic one), or use a array aprouch?
* Another question is if we will support stand-alone
types, i mean not beans (like string), in the values
part of caching. Well, Frank changed everything in the
direction of beans. It's a cache of beans, and beans
are mapped to the cache. It's coehrent with the thought
that only beans are saved in the database.

Frank,
In relation to the first question , I think that a mapping layer
will be necessary to mapping beans to cache. If we are
integrating with some OR tool , the framework will supply the
necessary information to create the cache regions (defining
DmlStructures). If the user is defining the objects to be
cached, he can use xdoclet to generate mapping information
or he can use an api to create the mapping. In java5 ,
annotations support must be used.
In relation to the second question , is important to have
support to cache "simple" data types like longs ,strings and
whatever. The cache is intended to cache anything not only
beans.
