#28 Reaper Crashes when 'Start' selected

When trying to run Reaper 0.98.1 the system locks up
when selecting 'start'. I've gotten it to run a couple
of times (3) but thats all with all graphics selections
set to 'on' and all audio selections enabled. System
info is:

AMD 1.2ghz processor
FIC AZ11E MB
256MB Ram
GeForce2 MX400 Video with 64mb ram
Mandrake Linux 8.2

It looks like a fantastic game if only it would run.

Can you run other program which make heavy use
of accelerated 3d-graphics?
A system lockup suggests that there are problems
with the driver or AGP configuration...

Peter, tried clicking on the link within my email and get:

So, I'll try leaving a followup here. Other games, ie..Vega Strike, work fine. When Reaper did work, the graphics
were nice and smooth. Its just that it locked up. I haven't tried it lately though.

I have the same problem here with version 0.98.2 on an
Athlon 2600 with Radeon 9500.

Other 3d-apps, such as Quake3, RtCW or Vendetta run fine.

I have the EXACTLY same problem!

But i found a way to ... well, at least somehow ... solve it.

I disable all sounds, and then the game runs smooth and
sweet as hell. But there's no sound. Even if i try "simple"
sfx sound options, or any other, the game hangs. It can
start only without sound.

So, i'm suggesting this is a soundsystem related bug. Me too
have AMD processor (XP 2000+), and my SiS7012 AC'97
soundcard is integrated into a motherboard K7S5AL, using SiS
735 chipset. My graphics card is nVidia GeForce FX 5900.

Maybe this is somekinda bug in your OpenAL stuff?

... as you can see, there is a part:

where there is missing sumthing from that "[11 02:20:36]
config(5) Reading config: game" line, a dot+something ... it
could not load a conf file? just guessing.
