On a fast corporate LAN with only two users on the simulator, voicechat is extremely choppy. It basically works for 1 second, then cuts out for 1 second, then repeats the cycle. Subjectively, it feels as if the server is suffering from buffer overfill then buffer exhaustion after sending out a throttle request.
What debugging features do I need to turnn on to generate useful data for you to examine this problem?
I'm using SVN 445.
Which client version are you using? Voice in trunk version of server works best with trunk version of client. Client from last release has some issues with newer server versions.
I am using the 0.31 release of the viewer. Unfortunately, I can't build the trunk viewer because Visual Studio 2005 C++ Express Edition is no longer available from the Microsoft downloads site.
On the Google groups forum I had requested that nightly builds of the viewer and server be made available but that depended on some improvements to the bamboo build environment. I am able to build the server, but unless someone supplies viewer binaries or upgrades the libraries and prebuild scripts to be compatible with VC++ 2008, I'm stuck.
Have you tested this now with the 0.4 viewer? Still having problems?
