All, It has nothing to do with DMA or computer BIOS linux has not use a BIOS since version 1.x. I have figured it out. When I was looking at Michael's patches I applied two patches the second one is here in a limited fashion: --- ./rdpsnd.c 2003-10-08 19:50:15.000000000 +1300 +++/home/rod/rdesktop/rdpsnd.c 2003-10-04 16:02:16.000000000 +1200 @@ -208,8 +208,8 @@ awaiting_data_packet = True; break; case RDPSND_CLOSE: - wave_out_close(); - device_open = False; + /* wave_out_close(); + device_open = False; */ break; case RDPSND_NEGOTIATE: rdpsnd_process_negotiate(s); This patch comments out the closing of the sound device which will mean no sound comes out. I extracted a fresh copy from CVS tonight compiled and tested and discovered that the sound did not work. I then did a diff between the fresh copy and my working copy and this was the only diffrence. I beleive that if you comment out the closing of the sound device then it should work for more people, Justin you might like to try this out as well? I have noticed that there is quite a bit of lag between stopping the playing of sound and the sound actually stopping but in my setup I have the same issue with the windows client as well so I guess there is nothing that can be done about that. Hope this helps clear stuff up.
