Messagethe Terminal server will disconnect after a certain period of = inactivty the logon window. what i do here is use kdm (or you can use gdm) w/ an automatic logon and as a backup method, a short time delayed automatic logon that bumps them into a custom x-environment via .xstartup/.xinit that = uses xdialog to present them with a buttons that say "Connect to Windows = 2003", "Connect to Windows 2000", "Shutdown Workstation", "Reboot = Workstation" ----- Original Message -----=20 From: Lane Leverett=20 To: rde...@li...=20 Sent: Wednesday, May 07, 2003 2:35 PM Subject: [rdesktop-users] Automatic Login to Linux and rdesktop Hey All, I am a bit of a newbie to Linux and would like to ask a question. I = work for a church and in trying to save them some money I want to be = able to use some of the really old PCs that get donated by running Linux = (preferably red hat) on them. Then I want the users to be able to logon = to the Windows 2003 Terminal Server in our office with the least amount = of effort since these people have little to no technical skills. What I = would like to have happen is have red hat boot up and automatically = login to a generic user account and then automatically launch rdesktop = in full screen mode. That way to the user it will look just like they = are logging onto a windows box and won't freak them out too much. Does = anyone know how to set this up or know of any place on the web that = documents how to do this? Thanks so much for your assistance!! Lane |
