Category: Internals Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Korvin (haltimur) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: crash on VirtualBox RDP and -P enabled Initial Comment: Hello there :) So, I'm using rdesktop to connect to VirtualBox RDP service (i.e. the server is not the underlying guest OS but the VM itself). When I'm starting rdesktop with -P specified, eventually it crashes displaying the following text: X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) Major opcode of failed request: 53 (X_CreatePixmap) Value in failed request: 0x0 Serial number of failed request: 172347 Current serial number in output stream: 172677 This usually happens when a large redraw takes place. For example, the easiest way to reproduce the bug (at least for me) is: 1) connect: rdesktop -f -z -P 192.168.X.X 2) open window with many stuff it in (ISE Webpack for me) and maximize it. 3) playing with taskbar button, minimize and restore the application, forcing large amount of redraws 4) the more clicks — the faster bug will appear. In my case I may trigger it after 3 seconds of mad clicking. Hope this will help somehow. P.S: All take place in 100 Mbps LAN with almost no activity (except for me). P.P.S: It depends on screen size, but I think it just timing issues. So 1280x800x24bpp may trigger the bug almost instantaneously whereas 800x600 may not. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: jenciso (jenciso) Date: 2010-06-02 01:46 Message: Hi! I'm using puppylinux 4.3.1 and rdesktop1.4.1 to connect to a "winxp sp2" host in virtualbox 3.1.8 running on top of a windows 7 and same thing for me: rdesktop -a 24 -N -P -f x.x.x.x (guest running with 1024x768 resolution) results after some minutes in same error (specially if I start to minimize/maximize windows No proble to connect again (the virtual machine keeps running) hope someone finds a solutions for this /best /javier ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Korvin (haltimur) Date: 2010-03-04 13:42 Message: Currenly i'm using Gentoo linux on amd64. But I've just tested under 32bit machine (under the same conditions) and it acts exactly the same. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=381347&aid=2963482&group_id=24366 |
