What kind of application are you testing with? The Sound Recorder (sndrec32.exe) is a good start. Also, verify that playback and recording works locally on the machine running rdesktop. Which rdesktop sound backend are you using? Are you using tlsnd from ThinLinc 2.0.0, or an older version?
