How to collapse WhatsApp 2.2518.3.0 (Desktop) into the Windows 10 notification area

My PC developed an issue where moving the mouse caused major framerate loss (complete freeze until mouse movement ceased) in VRChat desktop mode and Elden Ring, and VRC would freeze completely and crash if I played in VR mode. Both games use Easy Anti-Cheat, and I found EAC was clashing with the RBHook.dll component of RBTray. Completely killing the RBTray process resolved the mouse issue in both games. Steam's VRChat forum indicates that a similar app called 4t Tray Minimize causes the same problem...

I have been using RBtray for a while now. Thank you for the very useful app! I run it through SyMenu by UGMFree.it on external storage. Not sure if these may be the reasons it will no longer run correctly, but I recently changed the name of a parent folder to "P:Apps" (the colon is a Unicode character) and I also started a backup for it using Google Drive. It seems to be running fine but now it no longer works. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but I get the same error. Can anyone please advise...

sorry to necro, but i am also interested in this idea. i want to be able to automate hiding the command window when i run a batch script for my discord bot, and RBTray was the best solution i found. does anyone have any ideas on how to make it possible to automate RBTray? im wayy too dumb to figure out one that would work let alone be practical edit: i did some more digging and found this but i dont know if or how it works cuz i dont recognize the language its written in

i'm having the same issue. i'm a programmer and looked at the code. i think i have a fix, but i don't have c/c++ dev tools installed and i don't want to be a maintainer. i would recommend checking the return values of the calls to Shell_NotifyIcon(NIM_ADD, &nid) (and all api/function calls) and NOT calling ShowWindows(SW_HIDE) if it fails. in general there is minimal return code / error checking. the code is very short so someone should go through it an be diligent about checking ALL return codes...
