Just started exploring this. I've installed the latest img and set up a few soft phones for testing. When I get Asterisk to generate a message eg the talking clock *60 sometimes it's clear as and other times it's heavily distorted in a completey random way. For instance it will start OK and degrade as it's being played back then on another occassion it will play the first time message OK and then when degrade on the next on (same call) and sometimes it will play the whole set of times OK. Is anyone else seeing this?

Are your softphones connected to your network through Wifi? If yes, please try to connect everything with Ethernet.
Which codecs are in use? To see this connect to your Asterisk on the console with "asterisk -r" and run
sipshowchannels
while a call is in progress.

Hi Thanks for your reply. Yes this is over wifi, wouldn't be practical to run it all over ethernet. FYI the codec ulaw.
I've resolved the problem, it was the Twinkle softphones. Changed to Linphone and the issue was resolved.
