Nice update! Thank You.
Hi mates. Thanks for your work and for sharing it When I try to instaII with the script I get this error: sudo ./install Unsupported operating system: trixie Is it possible an update to fix it? Thanks you very much in advance
Original RasPBX system can receive SMS messages and forward it to your e-mail address, but the received message looks really poor. You can see only the phone number, and no name of the contact, which means that you will need to lookup your contact list manually. Also, some SMS messages are split into several parts, so you will receive several e-mail messages for one SMS message, which really doesn't look cool. You can also send SMS messages, but again, there is no log of sent messages, there is no...

Thanks so much. Successful install
Have a look here - I used the instructions as listed and had a successful install. https://github.com/playfultechnology/RasPBX
I cant locate the install.tar.gz file in your repository. Also I dont have a /home/pi directory I have a home/"username" directory. Will this be an issue? Thanks

I am attaching the script from dslreports.com as the website has gone offline The script was tested with a raspberrypi 3b installed with bookworm Raspberry Pi OS Lite the script can also be found at https://github.com/oystercatcher/rpipbx-script

DSLReports.com - where someone was maintaining a script for RasPBX installation - is now gone (interestingly - some people there were real jerks and used "AI" for moderation which was doing quite big damage, because they were removing/blocking legitimate links and users. But they were unable to maintain the servers, so now everything is gone...). Now, the install script built FreePBX 15, 16, or 17 Beta plus Asterisk 18 or 20 on a Raspberry Pi and included installation of iptables, dnsmasq, and exim4....
Been a bit. Thought I'd add some updates and info that might help people..... I found that the "SysAdmin Pro" software from the Sangoma site only works on their version of FreePBX, which doesn't work on Raspberry Pi's. There's probably a way to get it to work, but it's likely a lot of extra work and complexity. I also encountered a few issues that took some time to figure out and ended up being on the voip.ms side. But they are easy enough to resolve and avoid...if you are aware of them. These may...

I'm also interested in this. The DSLReports forum is now down for few months already.
Hi, I am new in this topic. I get an old Huawei E1752. I was able to unlock it but not to enable voice yet. I am not sure I have the right dashboard update version for voice feature. I have: - Firmware : 11.126.13.00.00 - Dashboard version : UTPS11.300.05.15.143_MAC11.301.09.01.143 I saw some people with voice activated have Dashboard version UTPS11.302.09.00.03_MAC11.303.04.00.03, but not able to find any working URL download from the internet. Perhaps some of you have this file and can share it...
Oh ya, I forgot about that. It's a pain to navigate their site. I found it here: https://portal.sangoma.com/store/displayStore/main/FreePBX%20Systems%20and%20Software/FreePBX%20Commercial%20Modules%20a%20la%20carte/25%20Year%20Licenses It should be the one named: FreePBX CM SysAdmin Pro 25 Year License When you purchase/install this, there's a code that it will give you that you need to keep a record of. If you ever redo the system, you'll need the code. Otherwise you'll have to purchase it again....
Scott, thanks for the quick and detailed response. The install on the 8GB Pi 4B failed with various pre-configured .img files. But I was successful using the excellent (!) script you rescued from DSLReports. My only problem (so far) is that the instructions don't match the UI for FreePBX. My application is a bit unusual. I'm not connecting to the public phone network. I'm setting up VoIP over the AREDN mesh network for amateur (ham) radio operators. https://www.arednmesh.org/ It's a worldwide network...
Hey Doug, Unfortunately I'm brand new to this PBX deal. I got pissed at the phone company and here I am. It's for home use. Plus this is kinda fun. I went with FreePBX 17, and Asterisk 22. Figured what the heck, go with the newest. I'm just playing with it right now, to see what's what. I bought a ATA to hook up the landline phones at home, and an IP phone for kicks. Once I get things figured out, I'm going to purchase a new phone number (they're cheap), and see how to get that all working. Then...
Thanks for posting this, Scott. Perfect timing. I'm attempting to install Asterisk and FreePBX on an 8GB Pi 4B. I'm using Asterisk 21. But I've run into a few problems with the FreePBX settings. I can't find the following and others: SIP Channel Driver TLS Port to Listen On Bind Port TLS Bind Port Any ideas on where to find these settings or their newer equivalent?
Yep, apparently it not compatible with the 8GB versions.
Hi all, New here. I'm going to be setting up FreeBPX on a Rasp Pi 4 with 4 GB RAM. After looking around and such I decided on using Ronald Raikes' build which was found here: www.dslreports.com/forum/r30661088-PBX-FreePBX-for-the-Raspberry-Pi www.dslreports.com/r0/download/2382318~b585ef776a5a1e0a62509e3f55433be4/FreePBX-RaspberryPi.zip Unfortunately the dslreports site went down maybe a week after I found it. And it sounds like it may be down for good. I had downloaded his script file before the...
Where did you find an image ? I am struggling to find one but raspbx.org is not accessible, and the links to download on raspberry-asterisk.org seem to be all dead. more precisely, it is the subdomain download.raspberry-asterisk.org which is not accessible. If I can find an image, I may perhaps help you, since I am familiar with Raspbx.
I read somewhere that Raspbx is not compatible with Pi4 8G.

I am trying to install RaspPBX onto a Pi4 and am struggling. Its the first time for a lot of years I have touched a Pi and am very rusty! I have downloaded the latest image and burnt it to the SD card but when I put it in the Pi I just get 8 flashes of the green light, 4 slow and 4 fast. I can install the Pi software on its own no problem and this works fine - please can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you in advance.

Using the raspbx-backup utility, I have created a script which will backup the full filesystem for raspbx to a remote filesystem using 'sshfs'. These instructions assume you have root access but if you are using a restricted user account, then prefix each command using 'sudo'. I had some similar experience using Huawei E160E over many years. Loud continuous beep at my end. I've not been able to detect any pattern to the occurence of this problem. It just appears random, which of course it is not.
Hi, Good question 🟢When RasPBX will get update ?🟢 Looking for update on this setup its possible? - FreePBX FreePBX 15.0.37.5 - Asterisk 16.21.1 - Raspberry Pi 4 B (4gb, overclocked ⚠ ) - USB Dongle E169 (x2) BTW: 😁 Matej You make solid work on github repo with ALL RasPBX Guides
Hello, can raspbx support Raspberry PI 5?
I have seen your two posts are awaiting moderation (still) and one is deleted...

Well, I am not defending their moderation practices, just trying to theorize what might have happened. Personally I have not found their moderation to be nearly as bad as some other sites, but that's just me. I'm not sure how often you install a PBX on a Raspberry Pi, but I do it so seldom that the time needed for the script to run isn't a huge consideration for me. I'm not familiar with chan_dongle, I'm guessing it would probably be fairly easy to modify that install script to include it along with...
Such are the perils of using software to do moderation. I understand that, but it is childish to blame computer (or AI) for the mistake. You know, human should remain in the loop. Why would I like ISO? Because running installation script takes a lot of time. And the script (as it seems to me) does not install chan_dongle. Maybe I will make an ISO. I know how to do it, just need some time. Sorry for my ignorance, but what do you mean by rewriting FreePBX and macros? I am not following what is happening...
My guess would be that if you logged in as a new user with no posting history and mentioned your install guide, they may have thought you were going to spam the forum. I mean, if someone asks a question, you should not provide a link to a blog or website providing a detailed answer, or what? Sadly, I have found that on MANY sites if you register as a new user and post a link in your first post, even if it is just to Google or Wikipedia or something, you will be banned (at least temporarily). Such...

I kindly asked if there is an ISO image available and if anyone would like to participate in creating one. I mentioned that I am the author of RasPBX install guide and provided a link. My install guide is totally free, published on Github, so I do not have any ads, I don't get any money from it. And I believe it is quite informative and useful. And I believe it was on topic on that thread, because it is about RasPBX (I were not "advertising" something completely unrelated). If that is considered...
By any chance did you mention or in some way try to promote your book? They don't much like spam there. Also, there is no "their version of RasPBX software". There is an install script in a thread titled "FreePBX for the Raspberry Pi" which is NOT RasPBX, although because both projects install FreePBX and Asterisk, there are a lot of commonalities. There is no reason that more than one person can't come up with a script or program that does the heavy lifting involved in installing FreePBX and Asterisk....
Just a warning. It seems it is run by a bunch of people, triggered to ban anybody they seem to endanger them. I suggest you to thoroughly check their version of RasPBX software...
Hi, I am the author of RasPBX guide and I would like to ask if there are any plans to release a new version of RasPBX? The current version is from 2020 and is rather old...

Hi Andreas, I just figured out how to do this after being stuck on the "NO DAHDI MODULES ON THE SYSTEM" error message when trying to start the dahdi service. I'm running raspbian jessie lite on RPI 2 B. Here is how I fixed it out: 1º Started with a fresh installation of (I guess) march '16 release jessie. I didn't update or upgrade, was with newer kernels when problems begun. In my case, uname -r outputs 4.4.11-v7+ 2º apt-get install raspberrypi-kernel-headers ls /usr/src shows linux-headers-4.4.11+...
Hi all, I have a Raspberry pi 3b running RasPBX. The other day I was trying to make a backup but ran out of space. After that the frontend came up with errors and it seemed to have lost connection to the database. I checked and mariadb/mysql wasn't running and refused to start. I tried to update and upgrade but it didn't find the repo. I managed to update at least something but ended up losing asterisk or at least it didn't work. I got Mariadb up and running again and ended up reinstalling asterisk....
Glad to hear you sorted it all out.
Apparently I have the issue only with the version used in this link https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r30661088-PBX-FreePBX-for-the-Raspberry-Pi Now I use the raspbx precompiled version and everything is perfect.
I've found the problem! I have used a wrong dial pattern on the Outgoing route?!?!?!? Frustrating! I've been struggling for days.....
From your log all I can infer is that both your handsets are in 195.60.190.0/24 network and I presume the PBX is 172.16.100.0/24 network. Not sure what 192.168.1.0/24 is.....??? Have you tried first getting everything working in a local LAN - ie. handsets plus the PBX and then when all the features are working to move required devices to other networks? This would vastly simplify the troubleshooting process....and I doubt very much the issue has anything to do with the Raspbx version you are running....
Hi, Calls come in via the inbound route normally will be routed to a destination number. However, if one wants to pick up the call from any of the handsets in your PBX then we need to create a ring group where the calls will be routed. As you have already done, the ring group will have the extension numbers of the handsets you want to ring when these calls come in. So, first thing to do is to create the ring group with a list of extension numbers - you have already one this. The second is to edit...
I've checkd and ufw is not installed and iptables is inactive. I've even tried to disable every filter rule, but nothing. I'm driving crazy. Please any advice?
I'm sorry, I explained wrong. I set the inbound destination with ring group, is the ring group that has terminate call for destination if no answer
Your inbound route should be pointing to the ring group you have created and not to 'terminate call'
The destination is "Teminate call" "hangup. My configuration is like yours...I really don't understand
but every call goes directly to destination if no answer completely bypassing the extensions. What is the destination you are referring to here? This is all what I had to do - just note that I am using an older version of FreePBX though.
Hi all, the received calls of my raspbx auto close after 32 seconds, even if the destination is an extension or a queue or whatever. I have tried to enable DMZ on the firewall to bypass any nat problem, but no effect. I attach the full log of a call. I hope someone could help me. Thanks

Hello everyone, I have an issue with raspbx. The inbound route has a Ring Group as destination with ringall as ring strategy, but every call goes directly to destination if no answer completely bypassing the extensions. What could be the error? Or better, what could I have misconfigured? Version FreePBX 16.0.40.7 Asterisk 20.4.0 Thanks
Hi. sorry writing my question here. I could not find how to create my own topic probably question is stupid (raspberry architecture is different ) but is it possible install RasPBX on PC (with intel i5 cpu on it) ?? thank you
Hi there I have Quectel EC200a and I want to connect it to RasPBX through PCM interface. How can i do this? Thank you
I am using pretty dated Cisco handsets - Cisco 7960s and 7970s. The problem (or better call it nightmare) was to load the sip stack and configure them on the handsets but once that was done it was pretty straight forward connecting to RasPBX. Having said that, I haven't touched the handset configs for over 5 years now - they just work - touch wood!
I haven't looked around but cannot recall anywhere one could set the rtp traffic to go directly to the remote handset.
By the way, I'm interested to know what cisco handsets you are using aand was it difficult to get them working with Raspbx? I'm assuming you're not running SCCP?
Hmmmm... That's interesting, but the question that remains in my mind is how do I configure asterisk not to proxy RTP traffic. My two phones are on the same subnet in the same location and on the same switch, and in FreePBX I have Direct Media enabled. So I'm wondering what else do I need to configure to ensure RTP goes point to point. I'm trying to limit the amount of work the Raspbx needs to do, as when it takes on some trascoding I am seeing packets drop because the poor processor cant keep up....

Well.....this https://blog.lithnet.io/2007/07/understanding-relationship-between-sip.html explains the reason why Asterisk is implemented slightly differently. However, it says "It is important to note that Asterisk only proxy's RTP traffic when it has to, and when configured to do so. If both clients are on the same local network segment, Asterisk doesn't need to play a part in the RTP session, and it will proxy only the SIP traffic." which means there must be a way to configure Asterisk to use...

Well what a surprise! I have the same going on. I have two Cisco handsets and when I call one from the other, just as you observed, RTP is sent via the PBX. I always thought that RTP was between the end devices as I am sure I read it somewhere that once the call is established the end nodes take care of the RTP. Need to dig into this more. Good observation, Simon.
Thanks. Wireshark tells me the RTP is going via the PBX. Even though I have Direct Routing set to 'Yes' on both extensions.
My understanding is the same - ie rtp traffic flows between the end points. If I get a few minutes to spare I will test it out here and let you know.
As it says in the title. I can make and receive calls fine between 2 handsets on my LAN, but looking at a wireshark, it looks like the RTP traffic isn't going directly from one handset to the other, its going via the FreePBX. All devices are on the same subnet. I get that external calls may need to do this so the FreePBX can take care of any transcoding that is needed, but identical phones using the same codec, the RTP traffic should go direct shouldn't it?
Managed to fix it by purging php 7.4 sudo apt-get purge php7.4 All working now.
Hi, Old time FreePBX user, new to RasPBX. I have a fresh install of the latest build on my RPi4 8GB RAM. It is going to replace my very old Asterisk 11.5 (FreePBX 2.11?) but it's not in production yet. Finished the install, done all the apt update and upgrade. Logged on to the web interface and updated all modules. I then decided to update PHP from ver 7.0 to 7.4, which was a mistake because I'm getting errors since. The GUI is showing "Cannot connect to Asterisk" when trying to start Asterisk from...
