Dear Manu, I realise you work very hard on Rainbow, I do not mean my comments to soun= d like a personal attack in any way whatsoever. If I have offended you then= I apologise profusely. However, you _did_ write in the release notes for t= he .msi regarding this particular change that :- "- Clean install works on case sensitive installation (this do not mean a full test is done, only that clean install does not g= ive errors)"=20 and that reinforces Charles's concern. As to my specific problem I think we= must have a misunderstanding due to language differences.=20 You ask:-=20 <There is any special reason to use a case sensitive database?> My previous e-mail specifically said :-=20 "a Case-Sensitive Server (read Instance) collation and a _Non-Case_ sensiti= ve _Database_ collation. " So my _database_ is NOT case sensitive but the _server_ is. =20 As I have said before I cannot change this. I do not own the server and it = runs various business critical applications which are case-sensitive. I rea= lise we could uninstall SQL Server, reinstall a case insensitive Instance a= nd create all the Business Critical databases as Case Sensitive and hope th= ey still work. But I can't possibly justify this on a production server jus= t to try out a CMS solution which is still under development. The only other solution I see is to buy more licenses which will alow me to= install a case insensitive Instance. I work in a developing country and we= just don't have the money to do things like this, especially when I am sti= ll trying to "sell" the idea of Rainbow to people here. I appreciate what you have been saying (and doing to try and fix this) but = I know from several attempts on different machines with various version sin= ce RC2 that if you have a Case Sensitive Instance it doesn't matter what yo= u do with your individual database, Rainbow won't work. Someone else report= ed an identical problem in the support forums a while ago but I can't searc= h them just now as the engine doesn't appear to be working at the moment! So to wind up. I really do appreciate what you are doing. I share Charles's= concern that non-techos will be disappointed if they hit snags which those= of you who can set up different configurations to get around, don't see as= "real" problems. Finally I won't ever mention this problem again as I have= done it too often aready. I _will_ try the new .msi and if it works I will= let you know. Otherwise I will just hope that the problem goes away before= my target audience gets bored and someone sells them on the idea of mambo = which to me would be a tragedy given all the excellent work and effort you = (Manu) and all the others have put in.
