While I wouldn't call this flashy (oh the pun) it's a good example of what we can contribute; I see it as 1/2 manual, 1/2 demo. <http://apps.fluidmedia.com/howdoi/rainbow/Documents.htm> http://apps.fluidmedia.com/howdoi/rainbow/Documents.htm At this point the feedback I'm looking for is about our approach - in this movie we first use the module, then explore some alternative ways to use it. I imagine movies should progress to detail any module settings unique to a module (though this movie does not include that yet). For productivity reasons my preference is to produce something similar for each module in the 2005 and only after completing that bulk production soliciting feedback, edits, expanded text descriptions etc.... I anticipate being fairly agreeable in terms of ongoing edits and updates baring in mind of course this will be done in a guys *free* time at work. I suppose if someone translated text for us we could plug it into a movie. Cheers, Rick _____ From: rai...@li... I suggest you pick one or two modules to do first that you think are 'flashy' or good selling features of Rainbow, then send them around for comments. Yipee !!!! _____ From: rai...@li... Subject: RE: [Rainbowportal-devel] online demos are very old My company can commit to creating a demo for each module in the most recent release. We often feel bad about not being able to donate more developer time, but currently do have elementary QA and support personnel available! They are familiar with the basic features of Rainbow and regularly produce flash movies using Macromedia's Captivate to support our clients. How about we'll aim to deliver the first edition of each module one in two weeks? In this case I'm making he offer assuming I'll just be delegating so in this first attempt the production quality may not be perfect - module authors and interested parties are welcome to comment and work with the guy actually producing it to get it right. Good plan? -Rick - Fluid Media Inc. _____ From: rai...@li... [mailto:rai...@li...] On Behalf Of Mark McFarlane Sent: Wednesday, April 13, 2005 4:45 PM To: rai...@li... Subject: [Rainbowportal-devel] online demos are very old Anyone want to update the demos here: http://rainbow.duemetri.net/site/3361/features.aspx, or create new ones? If we don't get a volunteer I think we should consider removing this module. Mark |
