This makes sence, and falls in line with the 1.5 plan of module enhancements. This entire change can be done on a module level with no need to go into core or anything like that. So it works well. We should get a list of all the modules that need this to be done FileDirectory SiteMap Discussions etc... Is uppose we have to agree on the convention insdie the them folder then currently there is Desgin/Themes/ThemeName/ What we are lookign for is Design/Themes/ThemeName/Mods/SameFolderNameAsModuleFolderName/ This can also be the container of module specific css files we where discussing. My only fear here is the length of these path names become excesivly long when repeated many times in the output html. It's like viewstate... beefing up the HTML quiet a bit. ----- Original Message ----- From: Mike Stone To: <rai...@li...> Sent: Mon, 04 Apr 2005 07:59:14 -0500 Subject: RE: [Rainbowportal-devel] themes I agree with you. They really do need to be part of the theme. If I want to make a Christmas Theme then the images should be able to change All be it the themes will become a little more heavy in size, especially if you don't change icons. but in that case I think Rainbow already used the Default theme when icons are not found. As long as that stays in you could just replace the icons that you want to change. This is my opinion any img or icon is part of the interface and should be in the themes of the module. What is the definition of module specific icons? If changing them by a designer can change the interface.. means they r themes,.. Like you were talking about site map icons ( use folder icon or page icon) this thing can be adjusted by user by adding his own theme. Or whether the lines of the tree of the sitemap are dotted or not.. Like your doing now a forum module.. all icons, images should be part of theme.. there should be no module specific images that cannot be changed by theme.. We should be consistant..designer of themes should be able to change any image or interface items in the modules... I feel now this things is not consitent bcse part of the images of modules are in theme and part in the module directory. And at the end when we are doing the RTL support.. we need for example to mirror the icons of the dotted line of the tree in order to be from right to left..when this is inside the themed our work is over.. but when images are in different directory the problem will be more.. Try to think about a consistent way of allowing themes designer to change anything related to interface of modules Regards, omar -----Original Message----- From: rai...@li... Subject: Re: [Rainbowportal-devel] themes 1) module control images are located in the theme folders already, if you are talkign about the other images, like folders... or module specific icons... then... those should stay in the module i think, not the theme. or make a directory in asp_client/mod_img/ and open directory for each one.... but the mod images are not related to themes they are related to modules in my opinion. 2) AS of work being done latley, any module that get's fixed by me... get's it's own css file which you have to include in all your theme folders. mod_discussion.css mod_blog.css mod_pageManager.css etc... ----- Original Message ----- From: Omar Uwaydah/ ZS Saudi SS Engineering To: <rai...@li...> Sent: Sun, 3 Apr 2005 17:20:24 +0300 Subject: [Rainbowportal-devel] themes I think that icons, images used in module level should be put inside img directory of themes.. like that it depends about what u select as theme, then the icons and images used in the module will change..(making themes for the module level regarding icons and image used in it ,, and of course I prefer a CSS per module.. and one general combining them instead of searching inside one big file for things related to a module) Example (sitemap , discussion ,etc...).. Moreover this will allow us to t apply the RTL support for the modules (because remember we need to mirror the images.. like the images of the sitemap when drawing the tree) Now images and icons at module level are put inside the directory of the module..i think these should be moved to image directory of themes..
