I can see the document manager and the screenshots function, but I can't see the web space. While hunting for the web space, I saw that Sourceforge *does* provide it's projects with wikis. http://alexandria.wiki.sourceforge.net/Wiki This is probably the best approach, as it means there will be less admin hassles to do with spam etc. On 5/9/08, Brett Lentz <wak...@gm...> wrote: > > On Fri, 2008-05-09 at 22:22 +0100, Iain Cheyne wrote: >> Great! I am new to 18xx and I want to play more, but I really dislike the book-keeping. I played around with Lemmi's moderator, but I found it unusable. If it was in English it would be hard to use, but in German it's impossible. Rails seems like a superb solution, but it seems to be designed to play the games in hot-seat mode. I'd much rather sit around a board. a) Can Rails already be used as a moderator? b) If not, please can you make the amendments? c) How can I help? Sadly, I'm not a coder. -- Iain |

Apologies for the long delay on this. I've been busy dealing with family issues. But, on the bright side, 1.0.5 is out! There were a lot of minor things fixed in this release. The big bullet point on this release is the fully playable implementation of 18EU. I'd like to thank Erik for all of his hard work getting this popular game up and running. This is also the first release where we saw some contributions from new members. I'm hoping we see more patches for the next release. :-) ---Brett. "Life and death are seldom logical." Ah, that one. A few weeks ago I discovered a problem with special tiles that had different internal and external numbers (in this case 1441 and 441). This has been fixed in the meantime, see my message from 19 February. >From your saved file I can now lay the special yellow Elyton/Birmingham tile without any problem. thanks for that. I don't have the time to test this currently, but a few weeks ago when I tried to play 18al from the cvs version I wasn't able to place any tiles on hexes that had their own special tiles. sorry for not checking this again myself, but as you are planning a release and I really won't be able to check this for a week more at least, I thought I'd at least mention this... I have committed two last-minute changes for the next release, the first one of which is essential: - 18AL/Map.xml - the introduction of city names had caused XML format errors. - GUIHex - also display the upgrade cost on laid tiles (e.g. 18EU yellow tiles on M-hexes).' I think I have completed 18EU (barring any oversights). The last two items were - floating companies from phase 5 on, - multiple upgrade cost values per hex (a new generic feature, here applied to the High Mountain hexes). Perhaps worth a new release? Erik Vos |

The 18EU Final Minor Exchange Round has now been implemented. The last major thing to do for this game is company startup in phase 5 and beyond. To help selecting a home base, I have added city names to Map.xml (also for all other games except 1830). These are shown in the tooltips as well. In addition various other fixes and small improvements, as usual. Erik |

I have committed a bunch of code, mostly dealing with correct token assignment to cities on multi-station tiles, and token drawing, also after tile upgrades. The "location" atrributes in Tiles.xml are now used to calculate the approximate position of each token on all laid city tiles, taken into account the number of token slots in a city (up to 4) and the tile's rotation. It's not perfect yet and some fine-tuning may still be needed, but basically it works and looks pretty good to me. The tooltips have been extended to show the tracks and tokens related to each city. Also the choice box to select a city when laying a token on a multi-station tile now shows these connections. I have wrestled a lot with tokens ending up in the wrong city, but right now all seems well. Erik Vos |

Brett, You're of course right. I have already implemented a bonus token for 18AL (the Coalfield token), and it is an off-city token there. Anyway, all tokens classes inherit from Token/TokenI, so where flexibility does not yet exist, it should not be hard to attain.
