thanks for the quick reply. unfortunately, it's not directly related to
my "cannot install" issue. because i personally switched to ubuntu, i
left my macbook as it is (= no qcs 061 on it).

the ugly problem i reported is on the mac pro both at the electronic
studio in hannover and in bremen. here in hannover i trashed all the
preferences, but this didn't change anything. in bremen today, i
reinstalled the qt libs, but this again didn't change anything. (btw -
why are the incQt and the noQt packages from the same size? i think noQt
should be much lighter.)

if you have an idea what i can try, i am happy to do it tomorrow. are
there any prefs which are not in the home/lib/prefs directory?
