I use ADal, which divides the top application square into 4 smaller squares, for recent, applications, DAs, and just the normal application button. These squares are just a little larger than QuickLaunch squares. It works, however the bottom two squares are cut off, if I click on the bottom part of it, Quicktype takes over and tries to launch the menu for some reason, even though I don't have those QuickType squares configured. It's a little hard to explain but if you install ADal for yoursell you'll see how it works. The main problem is that the ADAL squares could fit 8 in one space where QuickType can fit 10.

I know App DA Launcher, I use it myself. Which version of
quicktype are you using? If you use the new 2.1.0 beta, you
can try to split the middle buttons (3rd row) between the
upper and lower button. Maybe this helps?

I just installed the 2.1.0 beta. How would I split that row without messing up my other keys?

Look at the release notes at:
    http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=114823

There you will see the special key - (minus), which splits a
key between its upper and lower neighbour.
