Hi there,

I'd like to create VCD's with your tool. To encode them,
you'll need an mpeg 1 encoder and for the audio part an
mp2 encoder. You'll then have to integrate VCDImager
to create the burn-ready files.
I know, this will be a lot of work, but I think there would
be a lot of people who would appreciate an all-in-one
VCD generator application (and SVCD generation too).
There's a tool for win32 which does a great job and uses
open source tools like vcdimager too, it's called
dvd2svcd if you are interested how they did it.

Have a look at dvd::rip ( also called VideoDVDRip ) and also
    Kavi2SVCD

2 useful tools for people (like me) who prefers SVCD to that
    proprietary DivX things ...

but i would also be glad to see a VCD/SVCD support under
QuickRip because this soft aims to be very easy to use (
    unlike dvd::rip )

I'll have to have a look into it. There are a lot of good
ideas coming in at the moment, and I won't have time to get
    stuck in until mid July!

This is nice. I'll have to take a look to how xVCDs work... :-)

I totally agree: dvd2svcd is THE one for Windows, now we
like to see one for Linux!!!!

Support for ripping from DVD to the MPEG2 format (suitable for (S)VCD)
is now going into QuickRip. For the forseeable future, QuickRip won't also
generate the (S)VCD image and burn to a CD... you'll have to use an
(S)VCD tool to do that. QuickRip is a *ripping* program, not an all-in-one
    program.
