Unfortunately, its getting to be finals time. So the next release will probably be after those unless I can squeeze some time in.
Just an update... even though no one will probably read it.
Finally, Beta 0.4.0 is available for download. Most of the changes are on the back-end but there are a few new features. Check the release notes ( https://sourceforge.net/projects/quicklaunch32/files/Release%20Notes/Release%20Notes%200.4.0.txt/view ) to see some of the changes.
Version 0.3.7 has been released! Read https://sourceforge.net/projects/quicklaunch32/files/Release%20Notes/Release%20Notes%200.3.7.txt/view to see what has changed!
Hooray! You should be able to install this version over the top of the old version and be able to retain your keyword/command pairs! This version fixes a few problems, includes some additions for later improvement, and adds a shortcut to the how-to in the start menu. It also has some new features such as:
- Support for command arguments
- Additional ways to add keywords/commands to the preferences window besides dragging and dropping.... read more
Sorry about the crazy fluctuation of versions, but I think it will settle down now. This SHOULD be the last time you have to uninstall the old version before installing the new one. Due to a version number mismatch in the installer, it will give an error saying that a newer version is already installed on your computer if you try to install this one over the others. YES, your keywords will still persist through the uninstall of the old and re-install of the new. There are also a few tweaks to the keyword addition system and the recent bug has been fixed in this update.
The problem with your keywords not saving through upgrades should be fixed from this version forward. This version also allows you to search Google by typing "google <search phrase>" ie. typing "google dog" would search Google for dog. NOTE: if you are upgrading from an earlier version, please UNINSTALL your old version. There are some significant changes that may go awry if you do not. For those who are more technically inclined there is a way to keep your keywords if you copy out the text file in the program folder then (after installing the new version) copy it to your application data folder (to the sub-folder QuickLauncher) it should get the keywords.
Some bugs are fixed, including crashing when duplicate keywords are entered. NOTE!! Your saved preferences will not be retained if you upgrade to this version from the previous. This is a bug that will be fixed soon. If you wish to save your preferences, please go to "Program Files -> NoName Inc." and move the test.txt document out of the directory and put it back after you close the newly installed version.
The first beta has been released (v 0.21)! Be sure to check try it and see what can be improved! Not much else to say really because this project just started. Stay tuned for updates.
