The changes on 4 Dec 2004 were for compatibility with C++ 
compilation, but should if anything make C compilers happier too.  I 
checked out the project as of 5 Dec 2004 and it compiles without 
error as C using CodeWarrior 8.3.  It was on 6 Dec 2004 that we 
started really needing a C++ compiler.
